Angie's Decade in Review: inspired by other bloggers

2000: Graduated from IU with my bachelor's degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences. Last summer working as an x-ray file clerk at Methodist Hospital while looking for a job. Hired for my first job at the Indianapolis Speech and Hearing Center as a speech pathologist and audiologist aide. Unfortunately, within 3 months the center closed and I had to take a job as a teacher's assistant at a daycare center. Car accident with 1991 Pontiac Grand Am....someone rear ended the car. Met Derek.


2001: Continued working as a teacher's assistant while searching for a new job. Trying to decide if speech pathology is what I wanted to do. Jaime and Giancarlo got married and I was the maid of honor and Derek was the best man. Went on summer vacation with Becky to Myrtle Beach. Had unbelievable fortune when a school corporation in Shelbyville, Indiana called me and wanted to hire me as a speech pathologist associate. Took the job which led me to decide that I wanted to go back to school for my master's degree. Lived in Shelbyville during this time. Got rid of the Grand Am and bought a 2002 Pontiac Sunfire. My last great-grandparent passed away.....Mommy G. Still miss her. Also, my long time family pet Maggie passed away. She was the best dog.

2002: Took the GRE to get into grad. school. Quit my job in Shelbyville. After working my butt off taking summer courses, Ball State University accepted me into their master's degree program for speech pathology. Moved to Anderson, Indiana with my college buddy Becky to continue grad. school classes. Started dating Derek. New Year's Eve was spent in Tennessee where I met Derek's family for the first time.


2003: Finished up grad. school classes in preparation for internships. Got in a car accident on the interstate on the way to classes.....it was snowy out and very scary. Moved back to Indianapolis. Did my school internship in Avon, Indiana and met the best mentor in the whole wide world...Carlene! My sister also got engaged on Valentine's Day. Got my passport and went to Canada for the first time. New Year's Eve in Chicago with Derek at the John Hancock Building.

2004: Started on medical internship.....which was not that exciting....at Hendricks Regional Health. Derek surprised me with a trip to Montreal for Valentine's Day. Was a bridesmaid in Amber's wedding and then maid of honor at my sister's wedding. Day before sister's wedding while getting nails done for her wedding, power lines fell on my car and broke rear view mirror and scratched roof of car. Graduated from Ball State with my master's degree and got hired in Wayne Township as a speech pathologist.

2005: Working in Wayne Township. School was under construction. My classroom was in a workroom. By the end of the school year, would have to pack it all up for the summer in prepartion to be in a temporary room in the old gym along with all of 3rd grade. Spring break, went to Dominican Republic. That summer, went to Derek's sister's wedding in Mississippi. Moved in with Derek.



2006: Went to Europe with Derek on spring break. Came back with food poisoning. Had to have dental work done to repair bridge work....not fun. My sister and I visited my cousin in New York. Fall break: went on cruise with Derek to the Bahamas. Got glasses....yuck! Finally got a nice office at work! By Christmas break, went on family cruise with Derek's family. New Year's Eve, Derek and I went back to the Bahamas where Derek proposed at midnight.

2007: Wedding planning pretty much off and on the whole year. Found out I was going to be an aunt....twice (my sister and sister-in-law were pregnant)! I also turned 30...yikes! Later in the year, my niece Lorelai was born to my sister-in-law and her husband. Derek's job sends him to Akron, Ohio. Saw Niagara Falls for the first time. Derek and I take a cruise New Year's Eve.







2008: GOT MARRIED =) Went on our honeymoon to Australia and stopped in San Francisco and Napa Valley along the way. Went to Kentucky Derby. My sister and her husband welcomed my nephew, Dylan. Later in the year, he would have surgery to repair his heart. Saw the Barenaked Ladies on New Year's Eve in Detroit.

2009: First wedding anniversary, took another cruise. Lots of traveling. Montreal and the East coast with Derek. Saw my cousin in Boston and also visited Ben & Jerry's Factory, Hasbro and Yankee Candle Company. My brother transitioned to living on his own. Saw Rascal Flatts. Got a new car....2009 Saturn Vue. Had wisdom teeth removed....ouch! Went to Puerto Rico in the fall. Saw Graceland for the first time over winter break. Niagara Falls for New Year's Eve.
