Playing with Trains
Caroline sent us this picture yesterday of Lorelai playing with my old Brio train set. Lorelai loves to read our blog and we figured that she was just copying what she saw on the blog.
Angie pointed out last night that Dylan playing with the Brio train set was not one of the pictures we posted.
Apparently, they each had the same idea on their own!

Day Out With Thomas
Dustin, Emily and Dylan came to Ohio to visit this weekend. It was a quick one day trip but we packed a lot in.
The police and fire departments were out to meet and greet at the outlet mall. Dylan says "hi" to the K-9 Unit:
Feeding the ducks:
Getting some ink at the Thomas event:
Riding the rails:
Thomas!

Nashville Flooding
Caroline posted these videos the other day but I am sharing for those that may have missed it. The flooding in Nashville (and other parts of Tennessee) has been unbelievable. It is hard to imagine that a place where we have spent so much time has seen so much damage.
Most of the downtown area was severely damaged or destroyed. The Hilton (site of Christmas 2001 and one of Little Richard's favorite steakhouses) was flooded, Opry Mills (major outlet mall and former job site of Rusty) was flooded and Opryland was flooded (including the Opry House). Thankfully, the Ryman was not damaged and will become the new old home of the Opry until the repairs are completed.
For anybody wanting to show your support, the Hilton is back in business and is just a short walk from the Ryman. A lot of people are in a lot of need and they could really use the support.

Cleanup
Spent time in Galion, Ohio helping my cousin, Nate (who did most of the work), remove the junk from my grandpa's house. Here we are at the Crawford County Landfill.
Within minutes of our return, we had another load ready.
Lots of interesting things in there. Here is a box from my mom's parents to their apartment in Mansfield.
Also found this and Grandpa's collection of "fine art" (which would violate the Blogger terms & conditions). Apparently, art was two sided back then. Lots of Monet, Renoir, etc. on "Side B" with the girl on "Side A".
We also found a box of love letters during World War II. I will work on scanning those this summer so that everybody will have a copy.
